Whether or not you’re the type of dreamer who likes to fill out sweepstakes, the recently launched promotion by the PR folks at Sun Valley, ID, is worth checking out.
Between now and May 28, anyone with an internet connection (and a Facebook account) is invited to nominate a friend who suffers from STDD—singletrack deficit disorder. The promotion is based on the concept that the concentration of Grade-A singletrack in and around Sun Valley is the perfect "remedy" for any mountain biker suffering from a riding deficit. To be sure, the trails right off the resort are well-built and professionally maintained, and Fisher Creek in nearby Stanley, ID, is worthy of any rider’s bucket list. Beyond the epic riding located throughout the Sawtooths, the grand prize also includes brand-new Scott mountain bikes, buckets of riding gear and swag and transportation for the entire week.
The contest rules are simple—just nominate a friend in as many or as few words as it takes to explain why he or she is the most deserving candidate for "the Sun Valley Remedy." Then just upload a photo and wait for the nomination round to end May 28. At that point, start leveraging your social network for all you're worth—racking up "votes" will get you to the finals. After initial entries are winnowed down to finalists, each entrant will be tasked with producing a formal video submission to plea their case. The best video will be awarded with the grand prize: airfare and lodging for two in Sun Valley—plus a chance to ride with industry luminaries.
