The National Park Foundation and Air Wick teamed up to re-create the fragrance of six of the country’s most majestic national parks.
Included are Grand Canyon National Park, Virgin Islands National Park, The National Park of American Samoa, Denali National Park in Alaska, Gulf Islands National Seashore off the coast of Mississippi and Florida's panhandle and Kaloko-Honokohau National Park in Hawaii.
No, actual dirt from the Grand Canyon floor won’t further dust up your bathroom. The scents are inspired by the national parks, so no actual park items were removed to create the scents. Instead, a group of fragrance experts were assigned to walk the parks, study how visitors take in the scenery and take air samples from the parks to capture scent molecules all in an effort to recreate their unique aromas.
The fragrance of Denali National Park, for example, was recreated with tangy green apple, white flower and a hint of “clean” musk so you can breathe in the, “revitalizing notes of pure cotton grass and fresh spring air.”
The National Park Foundation believes the fragrance line will increase awareness of the national parks and inspire Americans to experience the parks firsthand. A portion of the proceeds from the national park-scented products will also go towards maintaining the parks. You can plan a trip to one of our nation’s great national parks by clicking here.
