Fitness Tip of the Day: Stretch Your Neck
If you are in front of a computer, you may be slouched over stooping your neck to read this; that is a lot of pressure on your neck, especially over the course of an entire day!
This can lead to pain and discomfort. One way to prevent this, though, is to stretch your neck throughout the day.
One form of stretching is as follows: tuck your right hand behind your back, locking your shoulder blade there. With the other arm, grab the side of your head and pull towards the respective shoulder until you feel the muscles pull gently (be careful not to strain the muscles). Hold there until the muscles relax. Repeat on the other side. (See a complete explanation of the stretch here.)
