Fitness Tip of the Day: Improve Your Posture

Eliminate pain realted to prolonged periods of sitting by strengthening your lower back

Many of us sit in front of a computer day in and day out. Sitting for an extended period of time can really take its toll on your lower back.

As you sit there you try to maintain good posture but slowly, your abs start to sink in and you start to slouch. This can lead to pain when you stand up.

One way to combat this is with lower back extensions. This exercise can help strengthen those smaller lower back muscles and help you maintain your posture.

Laying face down with you feet secured, you lift your upper body up by contracting your lower back and glutes. Although this is not the complete answer to the solution it is an effective way to help combat some of the effects of slouching all day!
