“You may already know how important it is to eat complex carbohydrates (such as oats, veggies, and fruits) before a workout to keep up your strength and endurance, but don’t neglect your post-exercise nutrition as well. Once complete a workout, it’s important to feed your body protein and carbohydrates for a good recovery. Since your metabolism is only at its peak for 30-45 minutes after you finish exercising, plan to pack in these nutrients immediately afterward. The best thing to drink is a meal replacement shake with a sufficient amount of nutrients to feed your broken down muscle tissue.”
