We all know that exercise is good for us, and even though that part of the equation is pretty simple, we usually still have a lot of questions to ask. After all, if we’re going to spend time busting our butts at the gym, we want it to be enjoyable and worthwhile, right?
We wonder things like, what are the best workouts for losing weight? What types of exercise are the most fun? Where do I start after joining a gym for the first time? Or will high intensity interval training help me run faster?
The answers to questions like these are totally different for everyone, though. The best way to lose weight for one person might not be ideal for another. You might have the most fun sweating through a spin class, but your co-worker in the cubicle next to you would rather run 20 marathons before subjecting themselves to one second of cycling.
We can’t answer every single question about the best ways to workout, (like I just said, the answer is different for everyone!), but in a day and age when it seems like new types of exercises and fitness classes are popping up faster than selfies on Instagram, we can give you an inside look at some of the newest and most popular workouts of the year.
Throughout the month of December and into the New Year, four writers from The Active Times will each take on a different type of workout for four weeks.
