A 2013 study suggests that too much red meat may be linked with Alzheimer’s, with a buildup of iron disrupting communication between the neurons in the brain. Too much copper, another heavy metal, could also have a potentially damaging effect too, and it is also found in red meat. This is another reason why you shouldn’t take iron or copper supplements unless prescribed by a doctor. Red meats also have a lot of saturated fats.
