When InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace opened earlier this year, it brought new life to the city's legendary Via Veneto, which found fame in the legendary 1960 movie "La Dolce Vita" and is now experiencing a resurgence thanks to media coverage. Reflecting its name, as "ambasciatori" translates to ambassadors, the hotel takes over a 1900-built site that was first constructed as a residence for ambassadors visiting the nearby American Embassy before the building became the American Embassy Library in 1946. 

Now newly transformed by IHG Hotels & Resorts, the landmark property features 160 sumptuous guest rooms, which pair contemporary style with neo-classical detail and inviting public areas including a buzzy restaurant, two bars, and a lobby set apart by its grand marble staircase and gold-coffered ceiling. 

The drinking and dining experience is a highlight of the hotel. LDV Hospitality has brought its celebrated Scarpetta restaurant, of New York fame, to the site. This Italian-American dining destination is then joined by Charlie's rooftop bar, which is inspired by the spirit of a "good time Charlie," and back on the ground floor, Anita's Lounge & Bar, named for Swedish actress Anita Ekberg of the Federico Fellini masterpiece this hotel pays homage to.

Mid-2021 saw the French hospitality brand Mama Shelter's entry to Rome with the opening of this fun, design-led property.
