Location, views, accommodations, dining options, customer service, activities, and attractions have all been considered.

Alabama – Grand Hotel Marriott Resort in Point Clear

The 4-star hotel was rated No. 1 in the Yellowhammer State by U.S. News and World Report. The only (possibly) negative feature is that it doesn't allow pets in any of its modern 405 rooms or suites. The 550 acres of property are overlooking Mobile Bay. Some of the favorite features are the pool area with a water park, fountains, geysers and waterfalls, and the fitness center that fronts a private lake.

The Hotel Alyeska in Girdwood

The chateau-styled resort, just 40 miles of Anchorage, is located amid the Chugach Mountains, making it an ideal place to discover the wilderness and expansive beauty of the Last Frontier. The most popular times to visit are summer and winter as it has the longest continuous double black diamond ski run in North America. It is also the only North American ski resort with both mountain and ocean views. What adds to the allure of Hotel Alyeska is the fact that it's close to three national parks. Relax in the saltwater pool or whirlpool, or indulge in a treatment at the spa. The resort was awarded a Certificate of Excellence in 2015 by TripAdvisor.
