Jeff Horowitz ran his first marathon in 1987, and fell in love with the sport. Since then, he’s run over 160 marathons and ultramarathons, doing at least one in every state in the U.S. and also around the world, from Antarctica to Africa and Asia. Formerly a practicing attorney, he is now a running, cycling and triathlon coach (AFAA, USAT, USATF, USA Cycling, and RRCA certified ) now teaches and works with runners of all ages and abilities. He is also an author; his first book, My First 100 Marathons; 2,620 Miles With An Obsessive Runner(Skyhorse Press 2008), was well-reviewed, and his second, Smart Running: How to Run Your Best Without Running Yourself Ragged (Velo Press) has been featured on Self magazine website and other publications.
