Fitness Tip of the Day: The Morning Motivator

Sorry night owls—according to this expert, sunrise workouts are superior

"To make the most of your fitness goals, stay disciplined and avoid the temptation to blow off workouts. Here’s a rule that has worked for me and many other athletes: The later in the day you go without training, the less likely it is to happen. In other words, get that workout done as early as you can. You may also be surprised to find that training early can give you added motivation for whatever else your day has in store, and you can be a better spouse, employee or friend."

—Dave Wiens has been racing mountain bikes for more than 25 years and has won the Leadville Trail 100 six times as well as a two-time U.S. National Champion. He is also the Director of Advocacy for Ergon Bicycle Ergonomics.
