Fitness Tip of the Day: Grab Greek Yogurt
“Not sure what snack to grab just before a workout? Try yogurt. This is a great pre workout snack because it gives your body simple carbohydrates that are absorbed more quickly, which helps enhance muscle recovery and glycogen repletion. Even better—opt for fat free Greek yogurt, which contains up to twice as much protein than regular yogurt with half as many calories. In addition, the protein in Greek yogurt is easily digested because it is low in lactose. It’s very important to have quality protein readily available during a workout since this plays a vital role in maintaining your fluid and electrolyte balance.”
