After being struck by a van Wednesday near a gas station in Lancashire, England, 2012 Tour de France champion Bradley Wiggins was released from the hospital on Thursday. While the cyclist did sustain broken ribs, cuts and bruises, according to Team Sky, “the injuries he sustained are not thought to be serious, and he is expected to make a full and speedy recovery.”
Along with this (good) news, the AP also reported that, given that Wiggins brought home Britain’s first Tour win and a gold medal at the London Olympics time trial, he’s widely expected to be knighted by the end of the year.
So, wishing Sir Wiggins a fast road back to full health.
