Chris ‘Chez’ Chesak has nearly 20 years experience forging corporate partnerships and in organizational development and is currently the VP of business development for the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA).
Career highlights include:
Graduated with a B.A. in English and International Politics from Wesleyan University (Middletown, Conn.) and earned four varsity letters in football (American football that is)
Spent part of 1993 driving solo in a VW around the U.S.
Worked for a year at the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington, D.C. (where he occasionally worked in Justices’ chambers – and even shot hoops with a Justice one night)
Was briefly enrolled in the MFA in Creative Writing program at The American University in Washington, D.C.
Jobs then included stints at the American Hiking Society (where he managed the National Trails Day program and thus met Shannon Stowell in 1998), the venerable The American Alpine Club, and then Winter Wildlands Alliance
As part of the U.S. Army National Guard, he deployed in 2005 to Iraq for a year with a line unit (and had the dubious ‘luck’ to have his first child born the night he actually flew into Iraq)
Joined the ATTA in 2006
Chris is an avid climber, skier, backpacker, and writer, having published fictional works in several literary quarterlies and non-fiction in national publications. He lives with his wife Sally and daughters Lillian and Sylvia in Cincinnati, OH.
Chez is a proud part of the ATTA team, helping guide and manage the organization’s membership development and sponsorship relations.
