8 Awesome Aprés-Ski Spots

Sometimes, after all, the best part of a ski vacation is what you do off the slopes

Pronghorn

While most skiers and riders take a mountain vacation purely for the love of cruising the slopes, a highlight for the foodies among them is the after-skiing ritual of après ski.

x

Après ski (literally "after ski") is a time when skiers and snowboarders, fresh off a long day of powder plowing and still clad in full battle gear—boots, coats and goggles—stop off at mountainside lodges and bars for a drink and a snack before heading downhill one final time.

While most ski resorts boast spectacular views, few can claim epicurean offerings equal to the scenery. But we've sniffed and sipped our way around the country to find eight awesome après ski vacations worth the trip.

From alfresco marshmallow roasting at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek’s nightly s’mores happy hour in Avon, Colo., to a ski-up bratwurst and beer bar at Montage Deer Valley in Park City, Utah, these eight awesome après ski experiences could just make you skip the slopes and head straight for the food.
