Stress can be a dangerous burden. We’ve all felt it whether it be a time constraint on an upcoming project, hitting every red light when you are already late, or just the cause of a frustration. It can be triggered by emotions such as anger, worry, or grief. But whatever may cause it, stress comes on strong, and can domino into something even worse.
That’s why preventing stress, or knowing how to handle it when it does come up, is very important to your mental and physical health. Stress can lead to high blood pressure, heart problems, obesity, headaches, depression and more. We live in a stressful world, and preventing our own stress is a top priority.
We sat down with health and fitness experts to find out how to beat stress. But, because stress can come on strong and quickly, we needed to find the ways to relieve it quickly. So that if stress hits right before your presentation, you can know how to relieve it in less than 10 minutes.
Certified strength and conditioning specialist, Lisa Reed; author and nutrition and wellness expert, Vanessa Cunningham; trainer and performance expert Chris Weiler; and Lauren Roxburgh, Mind Body Expert and Creator of Body BreakTHRU all weighed in on what it means to them to beat stress and some quick and easy tips on how you can do it in 10 minutes or less.

Experts agree that some sort of meditation, or simply just breathing deeply for a minute straight can relieve stress tremendously. Take deep breaths and clear your mind of anything in the past. Only think of your breathing and the moment, and you will feel better in no time.
