Instead of staying indoors, cool off this summer at one of the world’s best waterparks. Whether you enjoy thrilling rides or relaxing pool side, these water parks have something for everyone. The following list is based on Travelers' Choice Awards. Winners were chosen using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews and ratings given to venues over the last year.
1. Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park – Orlando, Florida
Escape the beach for a day and head to this insane waterpark for some adrenaline pumping fun. Ride insane waterslides such as Mayday Falls and the Storm Slides, encounter animals in Shark Reef then gather the entire family together for a giant raft ride in an inner tube on Gangplank Falls. Bonus: Typhoon Lagoon also offers surfing lessons in their wave pool.
2. Aquatica Orlando – Orlando, Florida
This is a year-round water park that has everything from high-speed water slides and exhilarating wave pools, to tranquil beaches. Don’t miss the now open Ray Rush. It is an amazing adventure with three ways to slide, splash and soar. You can fill your raft with family and friends and just enjoy!
3. Shipwreck Island Waterpark – Panama City Beach, Florida
Tipping, raging, zooming, splashing, and meandering – you’ll have it all there. Kids love the challenging slides Tree Top Drop, The Free Fall, The Pirate’s Plunge Racing Slide, and the Raging Rapids. 4. Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park – Orlando, Florida
Just because it’s Disney World doesn’t mean there aren’t some terrifying rides. Summit Plummet is located in Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park; it’s a near-vertical drop on one of the “tallest, fastest freefall body slides in the world.” Zip down the slushy slopes of Mount Gushmore, float down the tranquil river and sunbathe on the white-sand beach.

Go on a whitewater rafting adventure on Big Daddy Falls, plummet down the Meltdown’s 701-foot-long flume and step into the skybox on the most insane dropslide, Vanish Point. If you would rather relax on the water, go fee-floating down Hubba Hubba Highway – a lazy river with fast-moving currents.
7. Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park Resort – Erie, Pennsylvania
The Polynesian-themed water park is approximately 80,000 square feet. You can swirl down nine water slides, climb the Tree Tops Ropes Course, relax in the Lazy River, ride the waves in the largest wave pool in the Eastern United States, and spin in the new Aqua Tumbler.
8. SplashDown Beach Water Park – Fishkill, New York
The place markets itself as “the biggest little water park in America.” Its newest addition is The Megalodon. It sends you into a near-vertical, zero gravity experience. As your raft surges up the wall, it hangs weightless, and then drops suddenly swinging into a narrow exit.
9. Waldameer Park & Water World – Erie, Pennsylvania
Two words: Free admission. It’s family-owned and family-friendly. The water park has 75 rides, slides, and attractions. It is home to the Ravine Flyer II Coaster, voted the 7th Best Wood Coaster in the World. Have fun at live shows and while playing midway and arcade games. There is free parking and you can bring your own food.
10. Enchanted Forest Water Safari – Old Forge, New York

This is New York’s largest water theme park with more than 50 rides and attractions, including 32 heated outdoor water rides. The park is a combination of amusement and water parks even has a family circus show and a barnyard. Its location in the Adirondack Mountains only makes a trip there more alluring.
