Beach towns get a lot of attention in the summer because this is when people go there on vacations. But these trips usually include mostly on-land activities. Few stop to notice how breathtakingly gorgeous the coast really is. And this is true year-round.
The U.S. is among the top countries in the world for total coastline. This pretty much guarantees stunning panoramas and thrilling water adventures. American coasts are incredibly diverse – lakes, rivers, oceans, islands…
Regardless of what your definition is for a cool beach town, they are all over the country. An ocean or a sea is not mandatory.
A great beach town can be its own island with secluded or crowded beaches, with overwater bungalows and luxurious lodgings; it can be a barrier island where youngsters are looking to save money while still having an amazing experience; or it can also be a surfing mecca, where people can also watch big-wave surfers in action during the wintertime.
