OK, so they may have missed a few extremely popular workouts, like SoulCycle and CrossFit, but UK-based healthcare company Benenden recently released a montage that takes a look back at some of the most popular fitness trends of each decade over the past 100 years—particularly those of the dance variety.
From simple stretch routines (performed in long skirts no less) in the 1910s all the way to the most recent Zumba craze, they pretty accurately captured not only the movements but also the apparel of each era, creating a fun and interesting take on the different ways we’ve embraced exercise over the past 100 years.
