Since completing his first Ironman in 2007,coach, writer and triathlete Ben Greenfield has focused almost exclusively on the nutrition and physiology of endurance and multi-sport athletics.
Greenfield was recognized by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as the Personal Trainer of the Year in 2008, and stays active—some might say hyperactive—in the coaching community. He writes about human performance for print and online publications, and at nutrition at BenGreenfieldFitness.com, he is the owner and head coach at RockStarTriathleteAcadamey.com, and also runs EndurancePlanet.com—an online resource for multi-sport and endurance athletes.
Greenfield holds a master’s degree in physiology and biomechanics, and has certifications from the NSCA, the ISSN (International Society of Sports Nutrition) and the Serotta International Cycling Institute. As a member of Team Timex Multisport, Greenfield’s goal for next season is to go pro as a triathlete.
