There are two kinds of people when it comes to winter –those who love the snow and those who want to get away from it. Luckily for the latter group, you don’t have to wait for summer to enjoy the beach, go scuba diving, or embark on crazy adventures that don’t involve ice.
If you have some vacation days saved up, now is the time to think about where to escape the cold season’s wrath. Choose a destination with a temperate climate and you can spend your days working off any extra “Christmas cheer” weight by hiking, swimming, kayaking, and snorkeling.
Time spent away from the cold is always a great medicine for winter blues. Sink your toes into soft sand as opposed to fresh snow and head to a tropical paradise for a few days to recharge your batteries, clear your mind, and get mentally fit to handle the season’s wrath.
Consider a fitness retreat for a change. You get to relax and get in shape at the same time. Training sessions are not held in a closed gym with dozens of other people; rather, they involve hiking in nature, surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, and doing yoga on the beach.
