Route 66 is an American icon in its own right. The famous former highway has been immortalized in songs, on the big screen and has even been animated in the Pixar movie “Cars.”
Despite being officially decommissioned, Route 66, also known as the Mother Road or America’s Highway, still carries a certain mystique as the ultimate American road trip route.
