This week’s featured photo comes from Flickr user ENT108. It was taken at Angel Falls in Venezuela.
Located in Canaima National Park, Angel Falls stands at 3,212 feet tall, making it the world’s highest uninterrupted waterfall. The falls are a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Venezuela’s most prized tourist attractions, but visiting the falls is no easy task due to its remote location. If you plan on taking a trip to the falls, you’ll need to catch a flight to the camp and then take a boat on the river. These trips usually take place from June to December, because that’s when the rivers are deep enough to allow travel.
This natural wonder has been credited with inspiring “Paradise Falls” in the Disney movie Up and is a top destination for adventurous travelers.
