The Red Bull 400, one of the steepest races in Europe, spans 400 meters in distance and nearly 200 meters in altitude, making the average gradient almost 50 percent. The race is an all-out sprint to the top of an Olympic ski jump and the only way it could be any harder is if the slope was covered in snow.
