Nat Geo's Student Photo Contest Winners

From a pool of more than 2,500 entries, National Geographic chose the winners of its 2013 Student Expedition Photo Contest.

Top prize went to Lijah Hanley, 17, whose photograph No Boundaries was taken at the Columbia River Gorge in Washington. This is not Hanley's first experience with National Geographic or its photo competition. In 2009, he was selected to travel to Peru for National Geographic Kid's Hands On Explorer Challenge. Last year, Hanley placed second in the photo competition.

For his work, Hanley won an all-expense paid trip to a 12-day photography workshop in London later this year. The second place photo was shot by Julianna Brown, 16. Emily Watson, 18, took third.
