The Most Hilarious Bear Safety Video You'll Ever See

NBC Reporter Julie Tremmel gives tips on how to stay safe in the wild
Staff Writer

Nope, it's not a spoof. This TV reporter is 100 percent serious as she rolls around the ground, throws her shoes at the video camera and demonstrates how to avoid eye contact (or just look crazy) when confronted by a bear.

Reporter Julie Tremmel's video was featured on the 11 p.m. news in Providence, Rhode Island. The story was a follow up to the local NBC affiliate's story of a man who faced down a black bear in the nearby town of Scituate.

While the clip may seem ridiculous, and the reporting is questionable (no interviews with experts and no shots of a bear?) it certainly makes outdoor safety easy to remember...and we love the series of hilarious GIFs it inspired on BuzzFeed.

The video has since gone viral and was even featured on TODAY, where anchors Willie Geist and Natalie Morales had a good laugh about the footage.
