13 Things Doctors Refuse to Have in Their Homes

For instance, non-stick cookware is advertised on television, throughout the internet and even in magazines. We are told it’s easy to clean, scratch resistant and most importantly, prevents our food from sticking to its surface. While yes, it does do all of these things, it’s definitely worth saving the extra money and taking on extra cleaning. Dr. Sarah Williams, professional consultant for the Between Us Clinic, says that “the man-made chemical used to create the nearly frictionless surface of non-stick cookware, known as perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), is believed to increase the risk of several forms of cancer, including testicular, kidney, thyroid, prostate, bladder, and ovarian.”
Doctors also refrain from purchasing certain foods. Dr. Lisa Davis, Chief Nutrition Officer at Terra’s Kitchen, says she refuses to have red meat, white bread, soda, and frozen, pre-packaged meals in her home.
