If you’re one of the many people who makes resolutions that don’t stick, you may want to consider easier resolutions and doable goals. The most common resolutions pertain to weight loss but maybe you can set more unique goals this year, pushing yourself to live a longer, healthier, and happier life.
One of the easiest health resolutions you can make is to eat and cook healthier. Experts recommend five to nine servings of fruit and vegetables daily. “It’s easy to just grab a sandwich and completely forget about a veggie with lunch,” says Tara Linitz, nutrition manager at EatLove. “Grab two large handfuls of chopped bell peppers, baby carrots, cucumber, celery, or cherry tomatoes to have alongside.”
It’s also important to be aware of your calorie consumption. Liquid calories add up fast: “Try to cut out any liquids from your daily intake that contain calories,” says Michelle Roots, owner and personal trainer at CORE Conditioning. “Stick to water or black tea/coffee.”
The new year is the perfect opportunity to start fresh. Consider these easy resolutions for a healthy 2017.
