Carrying around excess weight can be uncomfortable and damaging to your health. A healthy diet, combined with exercise, is key to not only just blasting unwanted belly fat, but maintaining proper bodily function.
Belly fat has been linked to an increased risk of diabetes and heart disease, according to research. Now, a study has even linked belly fat to early death. Researchers found that men and women with the largest waists (more than 35 inches for women and 40 inches for men) have roughly double the risk of premature death, compared to men and women with the smallest waists (28 inches for women and 34 for men).
It’s important to bring your weight under control; you can do this by participating in regular moderate-intensity physical activity – at least 30 minutes a day, according to research by Harvard Health Publications. “Experts stress that lifestyle, especially exercise, is the very best way to fight visceral fat.”
