3 Moves to Help You Dominate 2016
Time to change EVERYTHING and drastically change your lifestyle, right? It’s time to start an extreme diet and jump in to the hardest workouts possible.
Most of all New Years Resolutions fail. Why? It’s very simple. Too many people try to make too many changes wayyy too fast. Look, don’t get me wrong. I am all for making healthier changes. If the New Year causes you to want to make changes I am all for that. Follow that intuition and run with it. You just can’t make the changes too fast. Rather than view the New Year as a big time to change think of it as a time to hit the RESET button. Freshen up a bit.
Here are 3 ways you can “freshen up” your workout plan for 2016
1. Start Slower (take a step back)
The No. 1 thing you have to do when starting a workout program or joining a new one is to HUMBLE YOURSELF. Take a look at every weight loss success story and I guarantee you will see some sort of story where they “realized and accepted that they were not in shape.”
When you start a workout program like a boot camp or crossfit you will not be the most fit person in the room. In fact you will see people who look in way worse shape than you passing you by. That is ok.
You didn’t start a fitness program for anybody else so don’t worry about anyone else. Start slow and build a little more each day.
2. Add Friends
Everything is better when your friends are with you. Take a look at your group of co-workers, friends and family members and ask yourself: “Who would push me to go through with a workout regimen?”
This is arguably the most important factor for success with my clients at Xceleration. It’s so cool to see everyone interact and push each other during the workouts:
Make a list of 10 friends/family members or co-workers and ask them one by one if they want to start a program with you. Most gyms will give you some pretty sweet deals for referring them.
3. Add New Exercises For Home!
In 2016 you are going to start to see more and more bodyweight exercises coming at ya. I have no problem with them as long as you remember to incorporate some weight training in there. Just like the 1 Arm Dead-Lift you see in the video.
The best part about bodyweight exercises is that you can do them anywhere! Pretty much takes away that “time” or “money” excuse you have been using much too often.
