The point is to prevent yourself from getting sick in the first place, because we all know, once you have the flu you have to wait out the virus until it runs its course.
Get Enough Sleep
Lack of sleep has an immense effect on our immune system. It can also cause us mental and physical problems. When our immune system is being negatively impacted by lack of sleep we are lessening our protection to fight off the cold and flu.
Get Even More Sleep
If we get the cold and flu, getting enough sleep is very important. Normally we have to wait out the virus until it finally feels like leaving our system. By getting extra sleep and extra time to rest we are increasing our chances to fight off the infection faster.
Decrease Alcohol Consumption
Do you feel like you’re getting sick? If your answer is yes, make sure you say NO to alcohol! Drinking alcohol can make you dehydrated and will not mix well with any medications you make be taking for your cold.
Don’t Smoke Cigarettes
Smoking in general is bad for your health. So, smoking cigarettes while you are sick will only make your cold or flu worse! Cigarettes are full of garbage you should never put into your body. When your body is fighting off an illness the last thing you want to do is add more bacteria to it.
Exercising is a great way to boost your immune system! It’s a great way to keep your body healthy, keep your spirits up and prevent you getting the cold and flu.
