Exercising is essential for your mental and physical health - it helps boost your immune system, releases endorphins and reduces stress. But your everyday routine can get boring after a while.

While there are tons of ways to work out if you hate the gym, the truth is that if you exercise with your significant other, you may not find that it's so bad. Working out with someone else is exciting, especially when it's with your romantic partner. You can do partner exercises, spot each other, and spice up your relationship with a little competition.

Studies have shown that couples who participate in physical activities together feel happier in their relationship and more in love with their partner. Activities such has running and biking together will have a positive effect on your desire towards one another and increase the passion in your relationship.

The best way to avoid injuries during an intense weight training session is to have someone spot you. But when you are at the gym alone, sometimes it’s hard to find someone that is willing to help. Your partner will be your own personal spotter. He or she will watch over you carefully, help you count your reps, check your form, and help you make any necessary adjustments so that you don’t get injured.

That being said, whether you are throwing a medicine ball back and forth or trading dumbbells between sets, you are strengthening your connection and achieving a level of closeness that you might have not been able to achieve elsewhere.
