Waking up should be exciting, not dreadful; you should feel great and ready to conquer the day. Getting yourself in a morning routine will help you manage your time and leave you in a clear state of mind for the day ahead.

Pressing the “snooze” button, rushing around to get ready, and running out your front door in a hurry will only lead to a stressful and anxious morning.

There are many ways you can ensure a positive morning wakeup. Simply stretching, eating breakfast and meditating will gear you towards a more productive day.

Set your alarm clock earlier and trade in a few minutes of sleep to start your day off on the right foot.

1. Get Moving

Wake up and get in a morning workout. Exercise increases your focus and productivity so you will be more focused when you reach the office. It will also boost your metabolism and increase your mood for the day ahead.

2. Drink Warm Lemon Water

Get in the routine of drinking warm lemon water every morning. Lemon water helps your body eliminate waste products while aiding in the body’s digestive system. It detoxes your body, rejuvenates your skin, boosts your mood, cleanses your liver and helps relieve heart burn.

It’s a healthy way to consume the nutrients and reap the benefits of whole foods. WebMD explains, “vitamin and mineral supplements can help prevent deficiencies that can contribute to chronic conditions.”

5. Eat a Healthy Breakfast

Breakfast is known as the most important meal of the day, and for good reason. A healthy breakfast gives you energy and has been linked to many health benefits. Some of these include weight control, improved cognitive function and reduced risk of heart disease.

6. Get Some Natural Light

Just letting in a little natural light in your bedroom will help wake you up and increase your mood. Studies have shown that natural lighting increases productivity, decreases stress and reduces fatigue.

10. Avoid Checking Your Phone

We have all been guilty of doing this at some point or another. Checking your phone when you first wake up calls for distraction.
