Most visitors say that November through March is the rainy season. The rain can spoil your adventure plans and get in the way of your relaxing days at the beach.

Summertime in Hawaii offers a number of events that are not available in the winter. Some of these include Hawaii's 50th State Fair, Fourth of July celebrations and the Hilo Triathlon.

Summertime in Hawaii can get pretty hot, so when you get tired of all of the hiking and biking, take a road trip with your family on The Road to Hana. Summertime is the best time to embark on this adventure. View black sand beaches, stunning waterfalls, unique jungles, beautiful oceans and super high cliffs.

The King Kamehameha Floral Parade

If you are unsure when to go to Hawaii, let the King Kamehameha Celebration Floral Parade persuade you towards visiting in the summer time. Although the parade this year already passed, now is the time to start planning your trip for next year. The parade symbolizes Hawaiian culture, with colors, flowers displays and presentation order that all have meaning.

Tamanaha 15K

Head to Oahu on August 14 for the Norman Tamanaha 15K Marathon. The race begins in Kapiolani Park and takes you over the scenic Diamond Head, around the crater and eventually leads you back to Kapiolani Park. For more information about the race click here.

It’s the best time to visit Turtle Beach

Turtle Beach, also known as Laniakea Beach is located in Oahu, Hawaii. USA Today calls it a "haven for green sea turtles." The best time to visit is in the summer, when the surf is low and the turtles come out of the ocean to find a spot on the sand. They need external heat sources to warm their bodies, which is why the summertime is the best time to visit. In the winter, the surf is too big and the turtles can't safely navigate to the beach.

Fourth of July Celebrations

Honolulu is the perfect destination to celebrate the Fourth of July. Snorkeling in the morning, a patriotic picnic in Pearl Harbor in the afternoon, followed by a top notch firework show from the beach is what you have to look forward too. The best place to be when the display starts is Ala Moana Beach Park. Thousands of people go there to get a water view of the pyrotechnics. If you have some time before the show, head to Ala Moana Center, the largest outdoor shopping mall in the state, and get a 25 percent savings pass.

Kailua Beach Run

If the Tamanaha 15K is too intense for you, the 4.4-mile Kailua Beach Run may be your best option. The race is on July 10 and starts at 7 a.m. at the Kailua Beach boat ramp and follows the beach shoreline. Bonus: You're running on the beach so shoes are optional.

Snorkeling

Although it is possible to go snorkeling any time of the year in Hawaii, summertime is surely the best. View a variety of marine life – eels and sea turtles, to name a few. Bonus: The dive is said to be easy. It reaches a maximum depth of 35 feet which makes it great for beginners and families with younger children.

Visit the Lava Fields

Hawaii's rainy season is usually in the winter from November to March. The rain can obstruct your view and make it difficult to see the Lava Fields. Summertime is the best time to visit and, according to visitors, you can see it best around sunset or before sunrise. Travel to the South Shore of Maui to find their unique lava fields. According to After Globe, "this unique lava field was formed by two large volcanic eruptions that sent hot lava slowly oozing down each side of Haleakala and the West Maui mountains. The eruption took place over a million years ago as the island of Maui sat over the same hot spot that the Big Island does now."

The weather is better

Visitors say Hawaii's rainy season is in winter, from November through March. The rainy season can bring enough cloudy and gray weather to spoil your adventure plans and get in the way of your beach day. Visit in the summer months when the weather is the warmest, the water temperature is above 80 degrees and the rain clouds are fewer.
