The peer-to-peer motorhome rental platform SHAREaCAMPER examined the world’s most adventurous countries as seen via the online popularity of activities such as skydiving, surfing and camping. The study presents a global insight into which adventure sports are popular in which country.
Experts researched the Google search volume for keywords associated with adventurous activities in the last year. These figures were then ranked. First, by the number of searches averaged per 100,000 citizens in each country, on which the following list is based. The second ranking is reflective of the actual number of searches to give an accurate indication of the amount of people searching.
The countries that made the Top 20 are almost the same in both categories, even though their spot on the table differs.
The Netherlands tops the most adventurous country list per capita; Australia ranks second, scoring top for rock climbing and other thrilling outdoor activities. Sweden was third. The U.S. placed first for total searches, followed by Germany and France.
