While the Giro is under way, GC contenders prep for the Tour

While most of the cycling world is focused on the Giro d’Italia, at least a few pros are sneaking away to scout and train for the Tour de France, unbothered and (largely) unnoticed. Favorites for that race, such as reigning champ Cadel Evans and his teammate Steve Morabito, were seen hitting the final ascent of the Tour's stage 8 on Wednesday—checking out the famous final climb, Col de la Croix, which could be the make-it-or-break-it moment of the race. Jurgen Van den Broeck and Alejandro Valverde have also been spotted training in France, where they hope to gain an edge in the next race of this year’s Grand Tour. Via VeloNews.
