VIDEO: A Journey Through Myanmar

A glimpse at the people, culture and landscape of a controversial (and beautiful) country

Myanmar has long been a controversial destination for ethically-minded travelers. Accusations against the government about genocide, child soldiers and other human rights violations drove many people to spend their tourism dollars elsewhere.

However, a series of reforms has changed the political and human rights situation significantly.  In 2012, President Obama even made a brief visit to the southeast Asian country (also known as Burma).

On a recent trip Patrik Wallner captured footage of the country's people and landscapes. Get an up-to-date glimpse of Myanmar in the video above.
