VIDEO: Pushing the Limits of Women's Climbing

DiGiulian sends one of the hardest route ever climbed by an American female (again)

Just five months after Sasha DiGiulian became the first American woman to climb 5.14d, she traveled to Spain and climbed the grade again. The route she completed, called Era Vella, is located in Margalef.

Era Vella was established by Chris Sharma. DiGiulian, as well as Adam Ondra, visited Sharma at his home in Spain just before she took on Era Vela. Spending time with these climbers helped her prepare for the challenge.

“I can definitely learn important mental approaches from them,” she said in the film. “Watching their physical capacities is also inspiring.”

Her efforts were captured on film by Keith Ladzinski and Andy Mann of 3 Strings Productions.
