In fact, certain chains, big and small, offer major discounts for savvy shoppers looking to visit loved ones, beat the winter blues or journey to the other side of the world. Whether you're planning a last-minute winter escape to Mexico or the Caribbean, heading to the big city like Chicago or New York to see amazing light displays or looking for a great deal on lodging when visiting the in-laws, here are some of the best hotel discounts around this holiday season.
Radisson
Radisson hotels are offering up to 20 percent off room rates for winter vacations at their destinations around the world, including the Radisson Blu hotels in Chicago, Minneapolis and the Mall of America. Book from December 10 to December 21 and travel before March 10, 2019, to take advantage of these rates.
Outrigger
If you're looking for some fun in the sun over the holidays, you can escape the winter blues in the tropical destinations that are home to Outrigger hotels, including Hawaii, Fiji, Thailand and Guam. Get a fifth night free or $100 savings when you book four nights.
Hyatt Resorts
Lock in a discount of up to 55 percent off for bookings made through December 19, 2018, for stays through December 20, 2019, at Hyatt's all-inclusive resorts in Mexico and Jamaica, with select resorts also offering $200 in credit as an additional perk.
Loews Hotels
Select Loews Hotel locations offer impressive travel incentives for you and your family to visit more chilly winter destinations. Celebrate the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party with tax-free accomodations and two tickets to the Tea Party Museum when you book at Loews Boston through December 31. The Warm Up, Wind Down offer in Minneapolis through March 31, 2019, includes food, beverage and in-room movie credits to help you enjoy a night or two avoiding the winter weather. And the Snowed In Package at Loews Chicago includes 20 percent off at the restaurant, spa and bar, hot cocoa and cookies and a tent and campfire set for kids. Loews also offers a buy-one-room-get-the-second-half-price discount through March 31, 2019.
Hotel Hershey
Hersheypark is already a sweet place to visit during the holiday season because of its millions of twinkling lights, but to make things even sweeter, Hotel Hershey offers one night free when you book two nights on select dates through December 25. You can also buy packages that combine accommodations with park admission and special holiday attractions through December 30.
Disney Resort Hotels
Christmas is one of the most popular times of year to visit Disney World because of the theme park's magical shows and decorations. Thankfully, Disney offers special packages to make your holiday visit more affordable. If you're a family of four, you can stay at a Disney World resort from December 17 to December 22 and get park passes and exclusive late-night and early-morning access for a discounted price. You can also save up to 20 percent on rooms at select Disney Resort hotels most nights from November 11 through December 24.
Accor Hotels
Accor Hotels wants to help you explore the world as a family this winter, which is why it's offering a deal for 50 percent off a second room and free accommodation for children at its more than 2,000 locations. You can also save up to 25 percent by booking in advance.
Holiday Inn
Give the gift of travel with IHG's annual sale. Save 20 percent or more through January 7 for trips between November 4, 2018, and March 31, 2019, at thousands of IHG hotels, which include Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, Intercontinental and more.
Burj Al-Arab Jumeirah
Home to some of the world's most luxurious, over-the-top resorts, Dubai has multiple hotels offering holiday discounts, with some giving up to 25 percent off of room rates between December 1 and mid-January. From November 1, 2018, through December 27, 2019, book three nights at the iconic Burj Al Arab Jumeirah for the price of four, or book at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel at least seven days before arrival before December 31, 2018, for up to 15 percent off your rate.
Atlantis Bahamas
Another tempting international escape from winter's chill is heading to the Caribbean. Plenty of resorts offer holiday season specials, such as Atlantis Bahamas. The resort offers last-minute holiday getaway deals for select nights in November and December starting at $149 per night for travel from November 1, 2018, until December 12, 2019. You can also save up to 50 percent on suite rates before December 20 and discounts at the Cove and the Reef before December 24.
Hard Rock Hotels
Hard Rock hotels around the world are offering seasonal discounts. Book through January 2, 2019, for stays between December 17, 2018, and September 1, 2019, for up to 35 percent off at select locations in Orlando, San Diego, Cancún, the Canary Islands and more. Other resorts have their own special bargains. For example, you can save up to 25 percent off and waive your resort fees through through December 27, 2018, at the Hard Rock Las Vegas.
Great Wolf Lodges
Great Wolf Lodge properties host their annual Snowland celebrations through January 2019; visitors can get a magical discounted package deal that includes a wintery decorated suite, waterpark admission, a life-size gingerbread house, visits with Santa and other unique seasonal activities. You can also save up to 25 percent when you stay two or more nights at select locations before December 31, 2018.
Big Cedar Lodge
Another great family resort with themed holiday packages is Branson, Missouri's Big Cedar Lodge. The two-night Happy Holidays Package includes a Christmas photo session, a family scavenger hunt, a breakfast buffet and more. Fontainebleau Miami Beach
