Peirce Mill

Overview

After being closed for nearly 20 years, Peirce Mill reopened on October 15, 2011 and now welcomes visitors to see how a water-powered mill grinds corn and wheat. Peirce Mill was built in the 1820s and operated commercially until 1897. The United States Government acquired the mill as part of Rock Creek Park in 1892. Peirce Mill is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The mill and Peirce Barn (the visitor center) are open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
