Kenilworth Park & Aquatic Gardens

Overview

At Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, starting in late May water lilies and lotus take center stage each summer. There is an ever changing pallet of water colors all year with fall foliage and winter birding. At Kenilworth Park visitors paint life with the excitement of rugby on the athletic fields, or with the quiet of a gravel bottom stream. Kenilworth Marsh is a natural work where raptors punctuate the winter sky and marsh wrens design their summer songs. Come by canoe or use the boardwalk and river trail accessed at the Aquatic Gardens.

Seasonality / Weather

Spring is the best season for wildflowers in the marsh that borders the athletic fields and gardens. Summer is the season for the Aquatic Gardens. Winter, when leaves are off the trees, is the best time for birding at any of the sites. Flowers close when it gets above 89 or 90 degrees, and don't open again until the next morning. To avoid this, come early in the day when flowers are at their best.
