Yes, in today’s world, it’s important to have a smart phone. The mobile devices provide immediate access for help, navigation systems if you get lost, and apps for just about everything. However, there are numerous reasons to put your cell phone down.

A recent Pew Internet Research poll indicates that 64 percent of adults in the U.S. and almost 25 percent of the world population owns a smartphone, and the numbers are increasing every day.

Your smart phone should be used when necessary. When the act of using it becomes too frequent, you may be at risk for numerous health issues.

For instance, according to Medical Daily, 91 percent of American adults and 60 percent of teens own a cellphone – the device that has revolutionized communication in the 21st century.  Cell phones have been shown to have negative effects on our stress levels because of constant ringing, reminders, alerts etc. They have also been proven to put us at risk for illness, due to constant touching and spreading of bacteria.
