There is nothing better than an ice cold, refreshing cocktail on a hot summer day. Unfortunately, we all know the damaging effects alcohol can have on the waist line, and the majority of the delicious cocktails, are high in calories and loaded with sugar.

The good news – there are tasty cocktails low in calories. Many of them are easy to make and only require a few ingredients. They contain a large amount of vitamins and antioxidants, making for not only a delicious beverage, but a healthy one as well.

1. Angry Pom Squeeze – 97 calories

Angry Pom Squeeze

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 oz Angry Orchard Crisp Apple
  • 1 oz Pomegranate Juice
  • 2 orange slices, squeezed into drink and used as garnish

DIRECTIONS

  • Pour ingredients over ice and stir
  • Garnish with orange slice

 

2. Lavender Lemon (Sparkling Ice)- 100 calories per serving

Sparkling Ice

 INGREDIENTS

DIRECTIONS

Fill a glass with crushed ice. Pour the gin, lemon juice, and the lavender syrup over the ice and stir. Float with unflavored Sparkling Ice, garnish with a lemon twist and lavender spring then serve.

Lavender Syrup

  • 4 tablespoons dried lavender
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup water

Bring the sugar and water to a boil in a saucepan over medium-high heat, stir to dissolve sugar. Add lavender and bring to a simmer. Remove from heat, and allow the ginger to infuse for 30 minutes. Pour syrup through a finer strainer into an airtight container.

 

3. Truly Americano – 170 calories

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 oz Truly Lime 
  • 1 oz Campari      
  • 1 oz Sweet Vermouth

DIRECTIONS

  • Combine ingredients
  • Garnish with an orange twist or peel.

 

4. Bikini Chi Chi- 123 calories

Crafted Cocktails

The Crafted Cocktails Bikini Chi Chi is an all-natural, gluten free, low calorie beverage. This fun summertime cocktail features 100-percent Agave, digestive enhancers from the vinegar used in the shrubs and no artificial ingredients added, to make for the perfect poolside beverage. 

INGREDIENTS

  • Pineapple Shrub- 25 calories
  • Coconut Water- 18 calories
  • Vodka- 80 calories
  • Seltzer water- 0 calories

DIRECTIONS

Mix 1/2 oz. Pineapple Shrub, 3 oz. coconut water, 1.5 oz. vodka and 2 oz. seltzer water. Shake with ice, then pour over ice in a 12 oz. highball. Garnish with a slice of pineapple. Craftedcocktails.net

 

5. Moscow Mule (Sparkling Ice)- 100 calories per serving

INGREDIENTS

DIRECTIONS

Fill your copper mug with ice to allow it to get it cold. Pour the vodka over the ice, add the unflavored Sparkling Ice, ginger syrup, and lime juice then stir. Garnish with a lime wedge and fresh mint, then serve.

  • 2 oz. piece of ginger
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup water
