We all know that feeling, at work when 3pm rolls around. Were just tired and ready to go home... “Just a couple more hours” we tell ourselves.

What if I told you there are actually ways to stay awake without having to drink a cup of coffee? Yes, that’s right, I am giving you a way to avoid those uncomfortable coffee jitters, and prevent the horrible coffee crash.

It’s all natural and actually pretty simple. Plus, you’re avoiding drinking ridiculous amount of calories! You just have to make a few adjustments to your everyday routine.

Below is a list of Natural Ways to Stay Awake Without Coffee. Use the tips below and maybe your need for coffee will slowly subside.

 

Move Around

keep your body alert, move around and “get your blood pumping.” Step outside and go for a walk.  Loosen your joints. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Get up and do some jumping jacks.

 

Eat a Healthy Snack

Eating healthy is very important to a nutritious diet, and equally important when it comes to staying awake. However, you must remember to eat snacks not huge meals. Eat snacks that have protein in them. For example, mixed nuts and fruit.

 

Turn on the Lights

Turning on the lights or going outside and being directly in the sunlight is key to staying awake. Light stimulation helps you stay awake longer. The bright lights hit your receptors which delay your circadian rhythm.

 

Stay Hydrated

Drink cold water. According to active.com, Dehydration leads to fatigue because it impacts the flow of oxygen to the brain and causes your heart to work harder to pump oxygen to all your bodily organs, making you more tired and less alert. By staying hydrated you stay energized.”
