Fitness Tip of the Week: An Apple a Day May Keep Obesity At Bay

New study finds that apples may help prevent obesity

I love to look at the most recent health research and see if there is anything we can add to our repertoire in order to make weight loss and getting healthy more efficient and easier!

One study that caught my eye a couple of days ago researched how an apple a day is a great way to fight obesity.

The study published in the journal Food Chemistry found that non-digestible compounds in apples (mainly Granny Smith apples) helped prevent some of the disorders that are commonly known to be associated with obesity. These non-digestible compounds were found to help re-establish a healthy gut micro-flora.

When healthy, micro-flora can help us feel satisfied and more satiated instead of hungry all the time, which could help you to avoid overeating.
