Fitness Tip of the Day: Power for Powder

Breakfast is even more important on a ski day

“Hitting the slopes this weekend? Better make sure you start your day off by eating right. As a skier, it’s important to have a breakfast with enough calories to keep you going throughout the day. Aim for a balance of proteins, carbohydrates, fiber, and antioxidants. I usually eat yogurt and granola with fruit, and I drink a lot of water or fruit juice.”

—Keaton McCargo has been skiing since she was two years old. Now 16, she was recognized this year as the 2011/2012 Colorado Ski Country USA All-Star Athlete of the Year.
