Fitness Tip of the Day: Pack It Up

Avoid junk food by preparing and packing on-the-go meals and snacks

During times when you aren’t active, like while sitting in your office, it's important to pay extra attention to your nutrition. If you aren’t expending any calories it’s more important to keep what you're putting into your body in check (it’s always important, just even more so when you're not moving).

For times at the office when you get the urge to snack, forget the vending machine or the local fast-food joint. Pack your own healthy lunch and snacks, which will prevent you from eating the highly processed stuff that usually comes from these types of places!

Some great snacks that are easy to pack and won’t spoil are nuts (which provide you with protein, fiber and heart healthy fats) and fruit. Fruit can be ideal for those with a sweet tooth because it tastes sweet while providing you with nutrients, minerals and fiber to keep you feeling fuller for longer than any generic bag of potato chips will!
