Fitness Tip of the Day: Mindful Moderation

Eating healthily on a regular basis should include all of the foods that you love


One of our pet peeves at Always Active Athletics is when people develop a mindset that treats certain foods as "off limits."

Making something off limits usually only leads to failure. For instance, you love eating chocolate ice cream, but many people would advise that if you want to lose weight or get fit you should stop eating it completely. How long will that last? In two days you might regress, eat the entire carton and then feel like you failed.

Don’t restrict any foods. You need to eat the things you love or else you will never stick to your diet plan. Sustainability of a balanced diet is what's most important when it comes to eating healthily. 

It's all about moderation, and you can have some of the things you love occasionally in moderation. Healthy food choices are what we strive for.
