Build Your Own Boardshorts
Quiksilver launches custom short-builder program
Quiksilver is offering a custom-tailored option that lets users log on and customize their shorts, including pattern, individual panels, draw-cord color and thread—plus, you can even get your name embroidered on the back. Choose from two styles, which are available in a total of four different lengths, and the shorts will be hand-sewn in Huntington Beach, CA, and delivered to your door. Shipping is included in the $99 flat rate.
A hundred bucks might sound steep for a pair of boardshorts, but swing by your local surfshop sometime and you’ll see it’s actually a fairly solid deal, especially considering the custom options and free shipping. Speaking from personal experience, the “Water repellant 4 Way Stretch Diamond Dobby” material these shorts are made from is as good as it gets. They’re light and airy, rash resistant (thanks to a lofted diamond pattern on the inside that reduces skin contact), and they really do stretch well in all directions.
Nope, these aren’t your father’s swim trunks. But speaking of, Father’s Day is coming up (June 17, but you knew that, of course) and it only takes a little pointing-and-clicking to shoot pops a gift code. Get one at Custom/Quiksilver.com
