Best Snowboards 2013: Unity Whale Split

A backcountry powder dreamsurfer

Unity’s Whale was already a pow-floating machine, but after adding another 12 mm of rocker rise to the nose for 2013, it’s virtually unsinkable. With camber from the front foot back, the Whale offers more hard-snow traction than you’d expect; it also has more torsional flex than last year, which makes it easier to turn and more responsive. This board is a directional dreamsurfer, best unleashed on powder days.
